Chiangmai:
Thailand's "Rose of the North"
Chiangmai is a
vibrant city: a melting pot of cultures,
religions and ethnic minorities. It's well-known
throughout the world for the friendliness of the
people and the "Chiangmai smile". There is
something for everyone. Ethnic food from India
to Mexico to Germany to the Middle East is
plentiful and authentic. Standard western food
and drinks are served at numerous
foreign-owned restaurants and bars. Amongst all
these you'll discover cheaper, delicious local food
with the signature, spicy cuisine that is
so popular in Northern Thailand.
All your comforts of
home are close at hand while you take in the
experience of the unique Thai culture. Shopping centres, bowling alleys, cinemas, ice-skating
rinks, tennis courts, neighbourhood pubs can be
found alongside bustling markets and serene
temples. You can immerse yourself in Thai
culture as little or as much as you like!
